Order of Service for Remembrance Sunday 12th November.
The City of Oxford Silver band will assemble at St Mary’s Church in time to begin to play appropriate music from 0945hrs until the Service begins at 1000hrs. During the Service, the band will play for the hymns and for the National Anthem. At the end of the Service, the band and the congregation will make their way to the War Memorial in the graveyard (effectively, across the road) where, again, the band will play suitable music until the Act of Remembrance begins at 1055hrs.

The Last Post will be sounded at 1100hrs and the two minute silence will be observed. During the silence, officers in uniform will salute, gentlemen in civilian clothes will remove headgear and all will bow their heads. The silence will end with the sounding of Reveille. The Act will include an appropriate hymn, prayers and the laying of wreaths and will end with the National Anthem. Soft drinks and nibbles (and a toilet!) will be available in the Reading Room, close to the graveyard. In the event of inclement weather, a truncated programme will take place centred on the two minute silence and the laying of wreaths
