The PC are continuing to chase updates from the OCC Transport team on the future of our bus service and have recently received the following information….
The current service will continue, with the incumbent operator Red Rose, until a new review date of 18th February 2024. We will shortly be going out to tender again for the increased service level beyond that date.
However, the terms of the new contract from 6th November state that a maximum single fare of £2.50 / return fare of £5.00 must be applied. The £1.00 single fare for rail ticket holders also continues to apply.
We understand Camp Road will be closed next week. I believe that buses will be escorted through the airfield to avoid this, which if anything is an excellent reason to travel by bus!
